Science and technology will be a central focus throughout the school year, with several projects and field trips to natural environments as well as museums to enrich our students’ cultural understanding.
At the start of the school year, 6th-grade students explored Telemark through nature-based activities, while 11th-grade students in the SVT track went on a field trip to study a vulnerable ecosystem and understand the interactions between the biotope and living organisms. 10th-grade students will also go on a field trip in October focused on this same theme.
Twelfth-grade students specializing in SVT will visit the botanical garden in late September to study and review a topic from the curriculum using the plant collections.
Fifth-grade classes are beginning to explore how the brain works to improve learning as part of the Cogni’classe project.
We’ll soon have the opportunity to strengthen cohesion and mutual support among the 9th-grade classes with our first field trip in October as part of the adventure class. We’ll also work on effective memorization techniques for the DNB, as well as the expectations for the oral portion of this end-of-year exam.
An exhibition on Planet Earth titled “A Blue Dot” will be on display in mid-September at Vulkan and Skovveien.
Another highlight of this first quarter will be the Science Festival from October 2 to 12, 2026, featuring mini-lectures, a field trip to the technical museum with the 5th-grade classes, and science workshops for upper elementary students, led by 4th-grade students on the morning of Wednesday, October 7!
