“El Día de Muertos” Contest

November is a very important month in Mexico where “El Día de Muertos” is celebrated.

This Wednesday at the LFO in 4th grade in Spanish class, the students of Madame Smedsgaard did research on one of the emblematic characters of this Mexican tradition: La CATRINA and it is from there that the idea of a competition was born: who was going by following specific criteria – to be the best?

To choose the winner of the competition, we had a guest of honor and jury of the  competition Vida Sofia Henri Contreras, 6th grade student of Mexican origin.

Together with the students of Miss Chevalier we listened to their research in Spanish, we sang “La llorona”, “Un poco loco” with the two classes.

Once again our students are committed to discovery and openness to the Other. To learn a foreign language is to cross the barrier of the classroom, it is to go even further.
