Sébastien Lucas has been a teacher at the French School in Oslo for the past 12 years. He already had 2 diplomas, one as a teacher and the other in language sciences when he decided to study for a Masters at the University in Rouen in Normandy. While working on his Masters he was still able to continue teaching at the school.

Since completing his Masters, he is now pursuing his doctorate at the University in Rouen. His studies are focused on Franco-Norwegian bilingualism, family language policy and the way bilingual children consider language and phrases while speaking French.

For some time now he has been working with 33 families from the French school in Oslo in order to understand the “cross-linguistic influence”. These children are now studying in 6ème and 5ème

Sébastien Lucas has been invited to give a talk on his studies at the International Conference “Multilingual Awareness and Multilingual Practices” which takes place at Tallinn University, 22-23 November 2018.
