Reserved Hour Friday, November 3rd, from 8:35 to 9:30

Ladies and Gentlemen, parents of students,

In light of recent tragic events that have occurred in France (adolescent suicides due to bullying issues, and the murder of Mr. Dominique Bernard, a teacher at Arras High School), the French School of Oslo will convene all its staff for a moment of sharing and reflection on the following themes:

  • Freedom of expression,
  • Combating bullying,
  • Student well-being at the LFO.

As a result, the first hour of the day (8:35-9:30) will be set aside on Friday, November 3, 2023. No classes will be held, and students will not be welcomed at LFO.

The staff (preschool, elementary, secondary Skovveien, and secondary Vulkan) will also come together to plan a time for discussion with the students. This will take place on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2023, with each class level having their own session.

These initiatives will be defined by our professionals and may address:

  • Well-being,
  • Respect for everyone within the school community,
  • Highlighting the resources available in our staff,
  • The necessary collaboration with parents,
  • Educational actions within the Committee for Health, Citizenship, and Environmental Education,
  • The process for addressing potential issues that may border on bullying at LFO,
  • Possible preparations for the Anti-Bullying Day on November 10, 2023, or the “NON AU HARCELEMENT” (NO TO BULLYING) campaign.

The timelines are very tight, and I apologize in advance, but the issues are crucial for the school and our LFO community.

I thank you in advance for your understanding.

Cordialement, Med vennlig hilsen,
